The goal of the training in police and military chaplaincy is to educate qualified chaplains who are capable of not only identifying and providing biblical responses to the professional and personal issues faced by employees in military and semi-military organizations but also of leading religious ceremonies and conducting organizational development training and continuing education.
Police and security forces often face an elevated risk of stress as they are regularly confronted with traumatic experiences that are unfamiliar to most people in their everyday lives. Society, especially in Western countries, has undergone radical changes, which are reflected in the impacts on security forces. These professional groups frequently grapple with emotions like stress, fear, shock, and grief. Therefore, it is of great importance that they have access to compassionate, prayerful, well-trained, and discreet chaplains.
Within the framework of our three-year program, we emphasize that students not only immerse themselves in biblical chaplaincy (such as chaplaincy in the history of Old and New Testament heroes, psychology, pastoral psychology, crisis chaplaincy, and biblical police and military chaplaincy) but also have the opportunity to specialize in one or more areas of chaplaincy (police, border security, professionals in the criminal justice system, security personnel, military chaplaincy). Competent lecturers, professors, and guest lecturers support students in understanding the subject matter deeply and in practice. Additionally, there is an opportunity to complete an additional practical semester with the support of our academy.
Individuals aged 22 and older with a clean criminal record can apply for the police and military chaplaincy program, with no upper age limit. Upon successful completion of the training, graduates are capable of offering chaplaincy services to police and security forces (police, border security, professionals in the criminal justice system, security personnel, military), providing therapeutic support for their mental health, organizing and leading prayer groups (Pray for Police!), and participating professionally in the leadership of relevant Christian organizations. Police and military chaplains can conduct funerals, weddings, and services for police and security personnel.
Upon successful completion of the program, a diploma in police and military chaplaincy is awarded.
The cost of the training is 600 Swiss Francs per semester. It is important for us to emphasize that financial reasons should not be an obstacle to this important education. We encourage you to reconsider your financial capabilities through prayer and seek God's guidance. Please inform us of your financial situation so that we can assess your request for possible financial assistance. We are looking forward to your participation! Your commitment can benefit many people!
